Ciro Vigilante was born in Australia and studied on a scholarship from the Republic of Austria at the University of Music in Graz with Prof. Johannes Auersperg and then at the Konservatorium Privatuniversität in Vienna with Prof. Andrew Ackermann. Since 2001 he has been 1st double bass player in the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and since 2011 a member of the Australian World Orchestra, where he has already played in the Josefstadt New Year’s Concerts in 2003 and 2004.
