Since 2011 Ildiko Deak has been a lecturer for flute at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz.
Since 1995 solo flutist of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz; during her studies she was a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and performed with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra; regular guest with the Camerata Salzburg, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Austrian Johann Strauss Ensemble, at festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Vienna Festival Weeks, the Rheingau Music Festival, the Chamber Music Festival Lockenhaus with Gidon Kremer and others. She has performed under conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Neeme Järvi, Zubin Mehta, Georges Prêtre, Franz Welser-Möst, Pinchas Steinberg, Dennis Russell Davies and Andrés Orozco Estrada; intensive activity as an orchestra and chamber musician, numerous concert tours in Europe, Japan, China, Australia, Singapore and the US; numerous radio and CD recordings;
Jury member at the Austrian music competitions “Prima la Musica” and “Gradus ad Parnassum”;
Ildiko Deak was born in Pécs (Hungary). Studied at the University of Music in Vienna with Prof. Barbara Gisler-Haase and at the University of Music in Munich with Prof. Paul Meisen and Prof. András Adorján; winner of various competitions including the Anton Bruckner Promotion Prize of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the international flute competition “Maria Canals” in Barcelona, Spain; important artistic impulses from Aurèle Nicolet and Peter-Lukas Graf.
